autumn 2005, the website starts. aside from that.....

vcbp started around summer 2004 as mercury tilt switch were recording their album 'kiprono' at substation. chris was playing gtr and robert was hanging around, helping out, getting in the way etc. we were talking about mts and music / bands in general and as a result of all this we wondered (to cut a long story short) if we could actually play guitar... like we've both been in bands for ages but etc etc, so we thought we'd see if we could actually really play decent rock music by putting together a blues power trio a la hendrix and / or cream...

we've known each other for a while, we've talked, chilled out, played music... and we started jamming. finding rick (bass player in little moscow and all round musician) and sticking robert on drums and chris on guitar we got some rehearsal time and started blasting. we worked out an okay version of voodoo chile and found jamie watson, 16, who came into play some more guitar for us.

then... in summer 2004 robert met kath and her neighbours robin and nick (from ac30 records). ac30 put on bands in london and release bands like televise, sleepless, air formation and they hired the zephyrs for a show. they're also compiling a series of comp cd's called 'never lose that feeling' and kath said vcbp should do a track. chris was in edinburgh and was visiting fife for mts recording... rick hadn't gone to music college yet and we started learning / working on 'winona' by 'drop nineteens' and jamie got grounded by his parents. we never saw him again.

we recorded 'winona' in march and april 2005 and then slept on it over the summer, and listened to it about a million times. we decided a few things about it: we (still) like the track and the vocals need sorting out... so in october we went back into substation armed with jamie (and alan, on fuzzy guitar) and redid the vocal. half way through the session bryan came in and, thankfully, he didn't mind us erasing his work. with the vocals done (thnx jamie) we just had to finish the last bit - ac30 nick said the song is too long for us to get it on the cd, can you cut the ending... so okay yeah we can and yes we did. and the track is going on 'never lose that feeling' release two, due out on ac30 recordings in january / february  2006.......

i don't know what 2006 will bring, but we're gonna start rehearsing again and stuff... and we'll have an album ready for you to listen to by about the summer as well.
